The Great Depression meant that only twelve athletes attended. However they finished up with a medal ratio that no Australian team, ever rivalled. Three individuals, won gold medals, a fourth won a silver medal and a fifth won a bronze medal and all but two out of the twelve athletes in attendance reached their finals.
